  • Today –: November Pack Meeting (PLEASE READ)
    Pack 42 Families,

The theme for our November Pack Meeting is ‘Service’. Please bring the whole family and come out to join us this Tuesday night.

First let me say a quick thank you to all those that participated in distributing bags for our Annual Food Drive. You have already demonstrated service in the community and that is awesome! For our November Pack Meeting we ask any adults that have served as a first responder and/or veteran (past or present) to wear their services headgear to our meeting.

A few quick notes on our Pack Meeting –

Note #1 – We will conducting this as a joint Pack Meeting with Pack 191. We will be meeting at the Avondale Fire Department and using their Great Room since the arez we typically use in being rented out to an Acting Guild. The address is – 23 Firehouse Way, Avondale, PA 19311

Note #2 – We will be giving out advancements, awards and prizes as well as a song or maybe a skit. We also have a round robin of stations planned, to include Apple Cider and Donuts from Milburn Orchards!

Note #3 – Uniform inspection will be a station this month. That may sound like a lot of pressure to make your Scouts uniform perfect but please don’t let this stress you out. This year we will have a Chester County Police Officer and some Firefighters from Avondale joining us to talk with the Scouts about community service. The purpose of this station is to have the inspection be an ice breaker so your Scout gets to talk with and meet these people as they compare and inspect their uniforms. Yes of course we want your Scouts to properly wear and represent our organization with their uniform. Our unit’s class A uniform is an Official Blue (or tan for Webelos) Shirt with proper insignia, headgear, neckerchief and slide for the rank you are working on, and a Scout belt (for all the belt loops they will earn). Beyond that everything else is optional. Everything you need to know is in your Scout’s Handbook.

Please let me or your Den Leader know if you have any questions.

Hope to see everyone tomorrow night!

    Yours in Scouting,

    Dan Pitman
    Cubmaster, Pack 42
