Welcome to Pack 42!
ONLINE REGISTRATION IS OPEN NOW FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR – Click on the ‘Online Application’ Tab above.
Cub Scout Pack 42 is chartered by the Kemblesville United Methodist Church. We typically recruit from Franklin, New London and London Britain Townships but welcome families from Maryland and Delaware. Most of our Scouts come from the Avon-Grove School District, including the Avon Grove Charter School, and sometimes the Oxford School District as well. We are a Pack with over 25 years of service to our local community and would love to have you join our organization.
We are a Pack dedicated to Family Scouting ~ this means that we welcome all girls to join Cub Scouting starting in 2018! Our Pack Meetings are family friendly with something for everyone and our Campouts & Camp-Ins* are family events.
—– Covid-19 has our normal meetings put on hold but we are meeting virtually. Read below to see what we have done in the past and plan to do once things return to normal —–
Cub Scouts is open to all youth from Grades K through 5. On average, we have about 8-15 Scouts registered each year with 1 to 2 Dens per grade level. Pack Meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday evening of each month from September through May. Dens meet 2 to 4 times a month on a day and time convenient to the Den members and schedule a multitude of special events to assist the Scouts to earn their achievement badges. Most of the Dens remain active over the summer.
Over the year, typical Pack events include a Pack Olympics, Fall Hayride, Holiday Party, Tent and Lodge Camping (both in October and March), Blue and Gold Banquet, Pinewood Derby and Pack Carnival. Our Webelos have several camping opportunities with the local Scout Troops while all of our Scouts may participate in the Chester County Council Day and/or Overnight Summer Camp Program. In addition, many special activities are planned for the Pack such as ice skating / pizza party, pool party, ‘Blues Rocks Baseball Game / Camp In the Infield’, and overnight “Camp-Ins” at the Franklin Institute, Philadelphia Zoo, Battleship New Jersey as well as the Camden Aquarium.
